Utah Shakespeare Festival: New American Playwright Project held 10:00am in Auditorium Theatre (300 W University Blvd, Cedar City), admission is $10. The featured play will be ‘Shunned’ by Larry Parr. (Levi Yoder discovers theatre quite by accident. He loves it, yet it goes against everything in his Amish upbringing. Temptations come in many forms for Amish youth, and Levi must decide, in this realistic portrait of Amish life and philosophy, the best way to serve God.) Join scientist Jackie Grant from the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History to learn how to capture and identify night-flying insects at Moth Madness 2013 from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm at Cedar Canyon Nature Park (Southwest Wildlife Foundation, Coal Creek walking Trail, 1.5 miles east of Main Street on Highway 14, Cedar City). Participants will learn about moth biology and how moths are collected with light traps. All participants should bring sturdy shoes, a flashlight, and a camera if they want to take pictures of the insects that come to the trap. Children are welcome, but parents should be aware that the moths won’t start coming to the traps until the sun sets.
